Hey hey! HAPPY NEW YEAR MY NURSEY FRIENDS! Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! I had quite the New Year’s Eve experience! Half naked guy came “dropping” out of our downtown square’s ball drop, Cirque de Soleil style. I wasn’t sure what to think of it, but the countdown got messed up because of it, and the new year hit without a dramatic 10…..9….8…..you get the picture! I think the announcer may have gotten distracted by the “unexpected object” coming from the ball. The feeling I had when it was happening was very similar to the feeling I had when Steve Harvey came back out and announced the he mistakenly called the wrong Miss Universe winner!!! Ahhh! Just put a pit in my stomach! Hah! Nonetheless, the ball/dude dropped, and 2016 was here! Had my hubby by my side and was thankful for a very fun and adventurous 2015!
So this is a “less serious” blog, and more of a fun gift for yall. Many of you may have noticed, I always have a fun ID badge holder on! I used to make these badge holders in nursing school, and we sold them to raise money for our pinning ceremony! They went like hot cakes at the hospital that we did our clinicals at! I did everything from sports team/college colors to holiday themes. I got my nursing girlfriends in on it, and they had fun making them too! I’ve received a ton of messages and comments from people asking if I sell them, or how I make them. I don’t sell them anymore! I used to on Etsy, but life was just too busy to make every single one, send them out in a timely manner, and commicate with everyone ordering! I gave up a long time ago, but I still make them as gifts and for fun! I wanted to share with yall the ” how-to” for these! They are super fun to make with your friends or on your own. They are a super cute accessory for your not-so-exciting solid scrubs, and patients absolutely love them! (and your co-workers will be harassing you for one!) Maybe you need to make a little income on the side, or your hospital holds an annual craft fair. These are perfect to make! If I had a business, I’d need 100 other little elves in my workshop, because these do take a little time and patience! They are worth it though! Not everyone is into this kind of thing, but I know lots of you Pinterest loving, girlie nurses would soak this up! Have fun! Could be a fun “floor bonding” night, or just some of your closest nursing friends! Start the new year off with some stress relieving hobbies! Happy crafting! YOUR HEART IS MINE!
…..oh yah….. The word I was trying to think of in the video was ” brooch.” Lol
I teach Nurses how to have less stress, more money, and better health by creating healthy boundaries in their career, landing their dream job, and learning to how to negotiate like a BOSS!
