Welcome, Sister!
YOU ARE THE BOMB! No….Seriously! Mad LOVE and congrats for taking the first BIG step to simply learn about the options out there to grow a side hustle in the wellness realm! I remember when I was dipping my toes in the water.
If you were anything like I was 3 years ago, you we curious, intrigued, scared, and excited about considering growing something on the side!
Being terrified & excited all at the same time is COMPLETELY normal! Some of the emotions that I felt at that time:
“I totally want to do this!”
“Wait, I don’t have time!”
“I need to do this!”
“But I suck at selling!”
“I can’t do my job the rest of my life, I HAVE to do something else ASAP!”
“I’m so scared to put myself out there, nope I can’t.”
“Okay, I need to do this. I have to just DO IT and try!”
“What will people think?”
“Do I have enough time?”
Girl, I’ve been through ALLLL of those emotions!
If any of those have every crossed your mind recently when considering about starting something on the side, know that you are COMPLETELY normal. Listen, I’m not here to tell you that growing a business and making a REAL income with it is easy. If it was, EVERYONE would be be quittin their jobs right now to do this!
I AM, however, here to let you know that every blood, sweat, and tear that you pour into generating an income sharing a passion that you love is 100000% worth it. The time will never be fully right and neither will the circumstances, you just have to make a decision to try and START!
You see, when you love what you do and you’re being compensated generously for it, it TRULY does not feel like work! It feels like more of a personal mission to figure out how to get your incredible message and business out there to get noticed and grow! It’s more a labor of love than an obligation like work! You grow into a person you didn’t know existed within you!
I don’t believe in failure. I believe in only outcomes. You try, then there is an outcome. It’s either what you wanted, beyond what you wanted, or not whatcha wanted. If it’s not what you wanted, ask yourself “why?”
Success is trial & error. It’s a constant game of putting yourself out there, evaluating the outcomes, and improving to build upon every experience with the ultimate goal of succeeding. I have “failed” more times than I can even count, but I just kept reassessing and moving forward to try again in a slightly different way.
Success looks differently for everyone, but it’s achievable by EVERYONE! It just takes consistent dedication, goal setting, mental perseverance, getting uncomfortable, and a willingness to learn! YOU CAN DO THIS!
So now that you’ve heard my heart in this whole ” business thang”, how do you partner with the RIGHT wellness company to start?
No worries. I’ve gotcha covered!
Below are 6 VITAL questions you need to be asking before jumping on with ANY wellness company! I’m going to talk about passive income in just a sec….
1. Do you use the product? Is the product truly worth it, and is it something everyone needs and can easily use?
•It’s so important before you start ANY business venture to ask yourself these questions. You can’t simply sell something that you wouldn’t use yourself & succeed longterm with it. There are many sales people out there and you can truly tell the difference between the ones who are selling to you for income and those who are truly passionate about what they are sharing!
The ones who are passionate successes are the ones you don’t feel you’re being “sold to” because they truly believe in and use the product! It’s naturally easy to sell something that you personally love and use and it’s easy and painless to buy from someone who clearly uses and has a passion/results from the product!
-Utility- can everyone use this product or a good hand full of people?
•If you’re selling a product or service, it’s important to ask yourself this question because it will assess the demand.
Are people having problems that my product could solve? Is there a market for this product? Is there currently a way we are addressing people’s problems that my product could do better? Have I been able to support my life with this product? Has been “game changing?” Is the product easy to learn and use?
All of these questions are awesome because ease, sharing testimonies, and a current need of your product will support success!
2. Is the Company you’re working with Legitimate & Transparent?
•It’s important when partnering with a wellness company to KNOW where & how your products are made. Are they using sweatshops in another country to fuel their riches or are they giving back in meaningful, positive economic, & philanthropic ways? Are they testing their products through a 3rd party to ensure purity? Do they have credibility? Are they focused on having the BEST of one specific product or are they trying to branch out and focus in many directions in the name of money?
Ensuring purity, safety, & efficacy of product with science based testing & results is really important when it comes to using a wellness product! People care about transparency & purity. Having research & education to share that back up a company’s claims is a game-changer. Does the company provide that? Are they transparent with how business runs, communicating with their employees, and do they consider the opinions of the “advocates.”
Don’t ever jump into doing a business without investigating the company’s background, credibility, & transparency with how the product is made! People will want to know & you want to be able to easily share!
3. Is it a Good Culture to be a part of?
When you think of certain brands & businesses out there, some give you a good vibe and some you just don’t care for. I’ll give you an example:
Dealing with Sprint & Xfinity was always awful for me. Customer service wasn’t efficient, nor kind and it took forever to accomplish a task. When I see their names anywhere, it’s nothing but negative vibes.
Chick-fil-a and Trader Joes on the other hand, I can’t help but smile when I hear those names! Every time I walk into Chick-fil-a or hit up a drive through (this is mostly for my hubs…okay okay….all in moderation) they are SO kind and so nice! Everybody treats you with respect and it truly is a “pleasure” to go there.
TJ’s is by far one of my favorite places to shop! There’s a crunchi friendly vibe! They’re always stocking goods, they have the coolest of everything healthy at great prices, and they’re always friendly. It makes me want to work there.
Does the company you’re considering have a good culture with kind, helpful, and passionate people? Do they focus more on lifting their company up and educating rather than bashing their competition? Remember, you will be representing this company and this company is kind of representing you. Do you get excited about parenting with that culture or is it a culture that you don’t want to mention you’re a part of? No one wants to work for or with the mean girls, so don’t if you can help it!
4. Do they have a Generous Compensation Plan & does it offer the opportunity to receive Passive income?
We all know that we love to serve and we want to help others, but in order to spend time growing a business, we have to be making an income! It’s important to look around at all compensation plans available! I always tell others that a 20-25% commissions form a product is IDEAL. What this means is that you will receive 20-25% of the cost of the product/purchase. Anything less, it really just depends on the product and how well I think it could sell.
-Is there a passive/residual income opportunity?
What this means is there an option to not just get paid on active sales, but can you earn income from your team making sales and recurrent customers? This is SO important because it provides a TON of freedom in your life. You will always want to be working and growing, but it’s a BIG deal to be compensated without having to lift a finger some days. THIS is passive income!
In order to create passive income, you have to do some work up front, but everyone who is making a lot of income in life (relators, investors, stock brokers, online business owners, blogger), they’ve created passive income systems in different forms. This simply means they put the work in up front to create a system that generates income for them. Many Wellness Company’s today offer this opportunity and it’s an incredible way to generate income and keep it coming long term!
Also, it’s important to asking if there is a cap to how much you can earn? You always want to make sure there is no limit to the amount of income you can make for the work you put in!
5. Is it an expensive start-up cost?
The last thing you want to do when starting up a business is pay an arm and a leg for something you don’t know how is going to turn out. I know MANY companies out there that require a $500-$1000 cost to START UP the business! That is insane! My recommendation is to start according to your budget and go with a company that gives you options. Make sure there aren’t any ridiculous requirements (like amount of sales you HAVE to make), or expensive “buy out” costs. Know what you’re getting into before you start and make sure it can be incorporated into your budget.
6. Can you easily work remotely or do you have to carry inventory?
This is SO important because most people are starting up these wellness side businesses, well…..on the side. They’re full-time working, nurses, teachers, accountants, day care workers, stay at home moms, business women, etc and they need to be able to have flexibly. Can you easily share this product by only needing your computer? Do you have to carry a ton of inventory? Are you in charge of shipping anything? Do you have to deal with the returns? Does your company have a good return policy & friendly customer service?
All of this is SO important because the last think you want to be doing is having to log around loads of your product place to place, deal with annoying returns, and stand in line at the post office to ship products to people! Make sure your company makes it EASY for you to succeed needing VERY little to share your product, that they take care of returns/shipping, and that they have a great customer service reputation! You want to be able to share your product easily and show others that they can do this easily too! Ain’t nobody got time for all of that non-sense!
These are 6 really important questions and ideas to consider when choosing to partner with a Wellness Company to create Passive Income! I hope it’s got your wheels turning!
The reason that I wrote this guide is because I whole-heartedly believe in partnering with GREAT companies who make GREAT products that people truly need and can benefit from! There are so many amazing companies out who are truly changing the world & health of others through delivering amazing natural products.
