When I started as a Nurse 6 years ago, the schedule absolutely KILLED me. I worked night shift for 12-14 hours at a time, and just felt completely lethargic during the hours in between. I would go home and sleep that day away as most nurses did. When I woke up to head into my next shift, I had no motivation to put on a “pretty face.” It was simply too much work. I really didn’t care either because I couldn’t justify getting “pretty” when I was wiping up poop and pee all shift long! Then one night I remember walking into the bathroom, looking in the mirror, and just feeling like a mess! I’m not one to judge anyone for their looks, nor do I care what others think about mine, but I just wanted to feel “presentable” for ME. I wanted to feel more confident. I was lucky enough to not have to buy a fancy wardrobe, the least I could do was to put on a fresh face!
A friend of mine introduced me to Beautycounter. I was looking for something VERY simple, natural, and effective. The reason I stayed away from make-up was because so many products these days are full of nasty parabens, phthalates, and other endocrine disrupting chemicals. I have been searching for something safe, effective, simple, and “pretty.” My girlfriend swore by this stuff, and despite my disliking of “liquid foundation”, I decided to give it a try. A year later, I am OBSESSED and there isn’t anything else I will use!
Tintskin Hydrating Foundation – LOVE this stuff! It’s so light and covers amazingly! I thought this would potentially be another cake-y foundation that makes me break out and doesn’t cover well. NOPE! It’s so perfect! It lasts forever, covers amazingly, and doesn’t even feel like it’s on! The color I use is “Linen.” I apply it over a natural moisturizer and rub in well. This is my fav moisturizer!
2. Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus – this light-weight blush stick goes on so effortlessly and lasts FOREVER! No, forreal. I’ve had this stuff for a year now and I’m JUST having to buy a new one! So beautiful, feminine, and pretty! I also have the Caramel color too for summer! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
3. Mattifying Powder – I finish all of the above off with a little application of this stuff! This takes away the shine and blends everything in so flawlessly! If you like the anti-shine stuff, bring this with you to work to apply later on! I apply very little of this because a lot goes a long way! All of the make up does! Worth every penny!
4. Bare Minerals Lash Domination – this is a cleaner mascara and VERY effective! I use this to finish off everything off! It’s light, doesn’t smudge, and also lasts a while! Good thickening & lengthening!
This is my SIMPLE and easy 5 Minute Natural Nurse Face! I do want to let you all know that the reason I pay for this makeup is because it’s SAFE beauty. Beautycounter prides themselves on their safer ingredients and the quality of beauty that it brings. I’ve tried many natural makeup lines before (some more expensive than BC) and nothing has compared to these products above. I’ve been using this regiment for the past year and have no reason to change! It lasts forever, it’s safe for my health, and it makes be feel confident (and like I know what I’m doing with makeup)! I get so many compliments on my skin and my makeup, and it’s literally this simple and easy routine natural make up routine!
